This policy describes how Resono ("the app"), developed and published by Ata Anıl Turgay ("we", "us"), handles your information. The short version: Resono has no user accounts and no servers of its own. Your music memory — every identified song, with its time and place — lives on your device.
Audio (music recognition). When you tap to identify a song or run a Session, the microphone signal is converted on your device into an irreversible acoustic signature by Apple's ShazamKit and sent to Apple's Shazam service for matching. We never record, store, or transmit your audio, and the signature cannot be turned back into sound. Recognition stops the moment you close the listening screen.
Location (optional). If you grant location permission, Resono attaches a place name to each identified song so you can remember where you heard it. This location data is stored only on your device and is never sent to us — we have no servers to send it to. You can decline the permission and the app works fully without it.
Purchases and subscriptions. Resono offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions (Resono Pro, weekly/monthly/yearly). Payment is processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account — we never receive your payment details. The app only reads your subscription status via Apple's StoreKit, on your device, to unlock Pro features. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your App Store settings.
Usage and diagnostics. Release builds use Google Firebase Analytics (anonymous usage events, device model, OS version) and Firebase Crashlytics (crash logs and diagnostics) so we can fix problems and improve the app.
Apple Music (optional). Playlist export to Apple Music uses Apple's MusicKit with your explicit permission and is handled by Apple.
Song lookups. To show links on other platforms and 30-second previews, the app queries Odesli (song.link) and Apple's iTunes API with the song's catalog identifiers — no personal data beyond standard network metadata (such as your IP address) is involved.
To identify songs, to build your on-device music memory, to link songs to other platforms, to export playlists you request, to unlock the Pro features you purchased, and to diagnose crashes and improve stability.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with anyone beyond the services listed above, each acting under its own privacy policy.
Your music memory, sessions, and playlists remain on your device until you delete them in the app or uninstall it. Subscription records are kept by Apple under your Apple Account. Analytics and crash data are retained according to Google's retention policies.
